As some of you may not care to remember, I recently purchased !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and taught the wife how to drive stick. At first, it was frustrating. As two people who think a lot the same, there was a butting of heads when it came to teaching. Eventually I left her to her own devices and she picked it up swiftly. Frustration then turned into confusion. I got a lot of questions like:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
"Why is this better than an automatic?"
"How do people like these things?"
"Why aren't you wearing any pants?"
To which I answered using some sort of "deal with it" gif, generally involving Bob Lutz. Yesterday, the best words came out of her mouth. She arrived at the house, looked at me and said
"Okay, so I don't really care if it hurts my knee or not. I'm not going back to an automatic."

MARRY HER. If you are already married, divorce her and MARRY HER AGAIN.

Well done. I like how her sentiments went from "Why is this better than an automatic?" to "I'm not going back to an automatic." Driving a manual is one of those "Don't knock it till you've tried it" things.

Yup. It took her a few months, but now she's hella proud of herself. She says she can shift the truck smoother than the Focus shifts itself, and will happily never drive the Focus again. Of course that means I'm stuck with the damn thing.
Hopefully she'll reconsider her position of "we need an automatic in the driveway because knee issues" and I can get that new Mustang GT
